War Child corona campaign

Challenge

War Child was very concerned about the impact of the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus on children in war zones and refugee camps. The non-profit organisation wanted to launch a new emergency aid campaign amidst the exponentially growing group of people affected by corona and the fresh panic that swept The Netherlands.

“Don’t let corona be their next war”

We created a concept with full focus on copywriting. One strong header to connect corona to another war that has to be fought, without belittling or comparing it to the corona wave in The Netherlands. Initially we went live with print ads in national newspapers, but the concept quickly grew into a full campaign complete with outdoor, social media and radio.

Results

Fueled by the campaign, War Child exceeded its fundraising goal much quicker than expected. With the new donations they continued their support to children in war zones with anti-corona kits, school games and remote psychosocial support.
